Why I Chose Board Certification
Think about it: Across America, hundreds of thousands of attorneys represent millions of new clients each year.
Every one of these new clients looks for the best attorney available. The easiest way for a new client to appreciate your skill is to let them know you are a specialist.
The National Board of Trial Advocacy certification makes you a specialist. By becoming NBTA certified, you tell new clients that you are qualified legal counsel. And, because the NBTA is a national certification, you can advertise your specialty.
Recently, a new client phoned our offices after his son was in a horrible motor vehicle crash. Having seen our yellow page advertisement, he inquired about our firm. Our conversation addressed the facts: the firm’s experience, the fees we charge, and most importantly, our firm’s specialty. He was impressed that we are one of only two firms in our area that are NBTA certified civil litigation specialists… We have a new client.
Faced with tragedy, new clients find themselves in unfamiliar and frightening territory. Besieged by lawyer advertising, they turn to experience: Specialists deliver superior performance.
I encourage all attorneys to become NBTA certified specialists. The testing is rigorous and the standards are high. New clients deserve to know you are a cut above.
Bottom line: Certification is important.
